CutCUT-001

Cuts the bowl to shape — keep or remove a whole span between two axis numbers, or everything on one side of each curve you draw. Seats, aisles, vomitories and rings are all filtered together.

Colored ports carry the chain from one component to the next. The rest are values you set once. Inputs marked ▾ take a Value List: wire one in and it fills with the choices.

Inputs

  • Seat ResultSRDThe layout to cut. Wire from Seat SRD, or from another Cut to stack cuts
  • Cut CurveCurveCut along these curves, drawn in plan - as many as you like. Each one cuts what the one before it left. An end that stops inside the stand is extended until it leaves the stand. A closed bowl needs a line that crosses it twice, or two lines in this Cut that each end in the field - they are joined there into one
  • Axis FromFromStart axis number of each span to cut. Read the numbers off View Axis. -1 = skip
  • Axis ToToEnd axis number of each span, matching Axis From item for item (no default)
  • Cut Combine Mode▾ CombWith both a curve and a span set: AND applies both, or use only one (default AND)
  • Keep SideKeep SdWhich side of each curve survives, looking along its direction: on = left. Give as many as the curves, item for item - the last one repeats (default true). If the wrong side survived, toggle that item
  • End AisleEnd AisleCurve mode only. Clears seats within one aisle width of the curve so the new edge has a way out - it adds no stairs (default false)
  • Keep SpanKeep SpOn = keep only what is inside the spans, off = remove what is inside (default true)
  • Tier EnabledTiersWhich tiers this cut applies to. Tiers switched off pass through untouched (default true)
  • From OffsetsFrom OffMove each span's start end off its axis, one per span: + keeps more of the stand past the axis, - stops short of it, 0 = cut on the axis. Ignored by the Cut Curve (default 0)
  • To OffsetsTo OffSame for each span's end end, matching To item for item. Give the two stands that meet at one axis + on one side and - on the other (default 0)
  • Cut End Mode▾ EndHow a + offset end runs out to its line: FOLLOW cuts on the offset line and keeps the seats there as drawn, EXTEND cuts on the axis and runs each tread straight on to the line, re-laying seats along it - on a tier whose seats you drew in Custom Seat, your own seats and aisle cells there come back instead. A - offset is cut on its line either way. Same choices as Opening Cut (default EXTEND)
  • Panel ValuesPanelEvery value from Input Panel, as one bundle. Anything you wire in yourself wins over it

Outputs

  • Seat ResultSRDThe layout after the cut. Chain straight into another Cut or Stand 3D Plus
  • Cut LinesCut LnsWhere the cut actually landed. Check this first when a cut looks wrong
  • Cut RecordsRecordsA line per cut made here - tier, axis range, row range and kind
  • Removed Seat RectsRemovedThe seats this cut removed, drawn in plan
  • Tread RingsRingsOne branch per tier. The tread rings after the cut, whole bowl included
  • Seat RectsSeatsOne branch per tier. The seats that survived
  • Vom RectsVomsOne branch per tier. The vomitories that survived
  • AislesAislesOne branch per tier. The aisle cells that survived
  • DebugDebugDeveloper diagnostic output for tracking down bugs. Copy this when reporting a problem

What it does

A seat, aisle cell or vomitory goes only when it crosses into the side being removed - one that merely touches the cut line stays. So a cut line drawn on top of a tread ring or an axis line keeps the seats that hang on that line. A cut line drawn exactly on an axis line also leaves a narrow empty strip beside it: seats are laid out between axis lines, the leftover width gathers at the axis, and the seat that straddles the line goes with the cut. End Aisle clears seats and nothing else; on a curve that runs along a row it empties that whole row. On a closed start line the axis numbers run counterclockwise whichever way the line was drawn - read them off View Axis before filling in Axis From and Axis To. With Cut End Mode EXTEND, a row that runs through a vomitory where the cut is made stays open to the new end face: no seats are laid in its extension.
